Take Another Chance is seeking an organized, motivated, and people-focused Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. This is a direct-hire, hybrid position based in Northeast Ohio. Applicants must be willing to work on-site and travel locally as needed.
This role is responsible for the full recruitment process, including advertising open positions, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, completing employment verifications, coordinating background checks, and assisting new employees through the onboarding process to empower employees to provide high-quality, person-centered services to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Northeast Ohio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting through offer acceptance and onboarding.
- Create, publish, and maintain job advertisements on Indeed, social media, company platforms, and other recruitment websites.
- Source, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for Direct Support Professional, nursing, transportation, administrative, management, and other healthcare-related positions.
- Schedule interviews, client meet-and-greets, site walkthroughs, and meetings with supervisors and executive leadership.
- Maintain professional communication with candidates throughout the hiring process and provide timely updates.
- Coordinate employment verifications, professional references, background checks, BCI/FBI checks, drug screenings, driving record reviews, registry checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Review candidate documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities requirements.
- Guide candidates through offer letters, onboarding paperwork, employment eligibility verification, tax forms, direct deposit, required training, and first-day activities.
- Track candidate progress, onboarding milestones, certifications, hiring metrics, and recruitment activity within the applicant tracking system.
- Build relationships with colleges, workforce programs, community organizations, and employment agencies to develop recruiting pipelines.
- Attend job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach activities as needed.
- Follow up with newly hired employees to support onboarding, improve retention, and address concerns.
- Maintain accurate and confidential recruitment and personnel records while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Perform other recruitment and human resources duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass all required criminal background checks and pre-employment screenings.
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally as needed.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, multitasking, and documentation skills.
- Ability to conduct professional interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and manage multiple open positions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to maintain accurate, confidential applicant and employee records.
- Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for hiring events or urgent staffing needs.
Preferred
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- One or more years of recruiting, staffing, human resources, healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience.
- Experience recruiting Direct Support Professionals, nurses, caregivers, transportation staff, or other healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) provider requirements.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, online job boards, and social media for recruiting.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position that includes a combination of office and remote work, with regular local travel to company locations, career fairs, job fairs, colleges, workforce development programs, and community recruitment events.The Recruiter will regularly use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment and must be comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities.
